The RN - ED Flow Coordinator manages the efficient and safe movement of patients through the Emergency Department, coordinating patient care activities and serving as a liaison between medical staff. This role requires registered nursing licensure, emergency department experience, and certification in life support protocols. The coordinator also leads teamwork efforts and process improvements within the ED to optimize patient care delivery.
Overview:
Piedmont Macon is a 310-bed, acute-care community hospital that has served the Macon community for over 50 years. The medical center offers 24-hour emergency care and all major medical, surgical and diagnostic services.
Responsibilities: The Emergency Department (ED) Patient Flow Coordinator position is responsible for the overall movement of patients through the ED in a safe and efficient manner. This position will coordinate all patient care activities and be a liaison with the ED medical staff to ensure that care can be delivered in an efficient and safe manner. The Patient Flow Coordinator appropriately delegates the workload and is a role model for teamwork, leadership and professionalism in the ED. Qualifications: Education- Graduate from a nursing program Required
- Bachelor’s Degree of Nursing Preferred
- 1 year of Emergency Department experience, as a registered nurse (RN) Required
- Experience participating in and/or leading quality and process improvement projects Required
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
- ACLS Required
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Required
- CEN - Certified Emergency Room Nurse Preferred
