Locum Tenens Surgical Critical Care Physician Trauma/SICU Near Cameron, Arizona Acute Care Hospital Dates: Day Shifts: Oct 2 4, 7:00 AM 5:00 PM Night Shifts: Oct 10 12, 5:00 PM 7:00 AM We re seeking a Board-Certified/Eligible General Surgeon with a Surgical Critical Care fellowship for a locum tenens opportunity in a 10-bed Surgical ICU. Work alongside a multidisciplinary team caring for trauma and critically ill patients in a high-acuity environment. Key Responsibilities: Manage and provide comprehensive care for approximately 10-20 SICU and trauma patients. Perform rounds on inpatient STICU and trauma patients with the support of trauma Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). Respond to trauma activations and manage patients in the Step-Down unit and on the floor. Collaborate effectively with Nurse Practitioners and other healthcare team members. Document all patient interactions and treatments in the electronic medical record system. Schedule Details: Day shifts: October 2, 3, 4 from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Night shifts: October 10, 11, 12 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM The day shift includes rounding and response to trauma activations. Night shifts require independent management of GS/Trauma and SICU as the Acute Care surgeon is not on-site. Qualifications: Active Arizona medical license and DEA certification. Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification. Experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center is required. Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-pressure environment. Proficiency in electronic charting systems.
