American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position requiring an active OH or compact RN license and recent cardiac stepdown experience.
Responsibilities- Position is in a hospital Cardiac Stepdown unit
- Rotating day and night 12-hour shifts (7am-7:30pm, 7pm-7:30am), with the facility reserving the right to rotate schedules as needed
- Requires working at least every other holiday
- Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate testing
- Use of Qualivis – Lotus for submitting hours worked
- Provide specialized nursing care for cardiac stepdown patients
- Assessment, monitoring, and intervention for patients transitioning from critical care
- Mandatory holiday coverage for at least every other holiday
- Annual and pre-start modules must be completed as required by the facility
- Smokers are currently exempt from nicotine-free policy for nursing staff
- Permanent and per diem staff must wait one year after last end date before returning
- Assignments at this location may not exceed 18 consecutive months and require a 6-month break before reapplying
- No exceptions for facial hair regarding PAPRs unless approved for medical or religious reasons
- Active permanent OH or compact state RN license in hand upon consideration
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from AHA or American Red Cross
- Minimum of 18 months of permanent, recent Cardiac Stepdown experience required
- PCU/progressive care experience preferred but not required
- Must pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation
- No license hits accepted and no open background cases permitted
- Fingerprinting and badging to be completed onsite prior to start
- At least one reference from a supervisory role in the specialty required
