Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring cardiac and neuro experience, SC or compact RN license, and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) of a hospital setting
- 12-hour day shifts (7a-7p) with three shifts per week
- Required to work every other weekend and participate in a holiday rotation
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
- Must float to similar ICU units as needed, with travelers floated first
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Responsibilities include caring for critically ill surgical patients with complex cardiac and neuro needs
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Free parking provided on site
- Pre-employment online modules (average 4 hours) must be completed before start
- Must include all planned time off at the time of application; extended or holiday RTO is subject to approval and may delay the offer process
- Staff may be assigned emergency responsibilities during hurricane season (June-November)
Requirements
- Active SC or compact state RN license in hand prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience, 2 years preferred
- Current AHA certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Recent experience with cardiac and neuro ICU cases required
- Must provide SSN and driver's license for consideration
- Previous employees must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before applying
- Locals within a 60-mile radius are not accepted
