PCU Nursing Job Details

• Location: Nashville, Tennessee (37207) – Tennessee nursing jobs
• Unit: 3rd, Neuro Med/Surg (Progressive Care Unit)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
• Start Date: December 8, 2025
• End Date: March 9, 2026
• Duration: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Bed Count: 20
• Patient Ratio: 6:1
• Support: Tech support on all shifts; unit secretary 7a-7p
• Documentation: Meditech EMR
• Scheduling: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1530 - $1640

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact state
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or PCU nursing experience
• Strong clinical skills in prioritizing care, multitasking, and providing compassionate patient care
• Proficient with IV starts, wound care, surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg Progressive Care Unit
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform routine nursing procedures
• Operate clinical equipment: IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, pulse oximeters, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, iMobile communication technology
• Document patient care using Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Participate in bedside shift reports and build strong relationships with patients and families
• Float to other units as needed per facility policy
