Inpatient Focus EVH Required 3-6 Month Assignment

Opportunity Snapshot:
A leading medical center in Dover, Delaware, is seeking an experienced NP or PA for Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery locum coverage. This full-time role offers flexible shifts, call responsibility, and the opportunity to work closely with an established CV surgery team. Candidates must be skilled in open and endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH).

Key Details:

• Coverage Dates: January 5, 2026 - 3 to 6 months

• Schedule: 4-day weekend coverage or gap filling locum

• Two 7a-7p shifts and two 7a-3p shifts

• Call Schedule:

• 1-2 weekday calls per week (M-Th, 7p-7a)

• 1 in 3 weekends (Fri 7p-Mon 7a)

• Setting: Primarily Inpatient - CVSICU, floor management, inpatient consults, outpatient clinic coverage

• Responsibilities:

• Post-op patient resuscitation

• Rounding and responding to consults and emergencies

• OR first assist for emergent cases

• Chest tube placement and EVH (required)

• Patient Volume: 10-20 encounters per shift

• Support Staff: Surgeons, APCs, nursing team

• Reason for Need: Coverage gap for EVH-capable provider

• Minimum Commitment: 3 months (ideal: 6 months)

• EMR: Epic

  Requirements:

  • NP or PA with Cardiothoracic/Vascular Surgery experience

  • Skilled in endoscopic and open vein harvest - Required

  • Chest tube placement proficiency - Required

  • Open radial artery harvest - Preferred but not required

  • ACLS and BLS - Required

  • Active Delaware License or willing to obtain - Accepted
    Compact License Accepted

  • Influenza vaccination or mask policy compliance - Required
