The Pediatric Hospitalist Physician provides 24-hour in-house coverage for healthy newborns, NICU patients, and occasional pediatric emergency consultations with neonatology support. Responsibilities include attending deliveries, admitting patients overnight to the NICU, and maintaining necessary certifications such as NRP. This role requires licensure in Connecticut or the IMLC and board certification or eligibility in pediatrics.
Shift: 24 hr shifts. 5p - 5p (No call)
Additional Details:
This is for healthy newborn coverage, some very rare and minor Pediatric E.R. consults, delivery room coverage, and in house coverage of NICU patients at night with NEONATOLOGY backup. They also admit patients to the NICU overnight (with certain limitations). Need to be certified in NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation), attend deliveries. There are no required procedures.
