This position seeks a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Gastroenterologist to provide outpatient and inpatient consultative care, including routine GI procedures such as EGD and colonoscopy, within a community-based practice supported by a major teaching hospital. The role involves managing diverse gastrointestinal conditions, participating in rotating inpatient coverage, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and has optional academic involvement opportunities. Candidates must hold an MD or DO, be eligible for Massachusetts licensure, and have completed an ACGME-accredited GI fellowship.
About the Role Seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible General Gastroenterologist to join an expanding GI service in a collaborative faculty position focused on community-based practice. Ideal candidate is a skilled clinician with strong interest in community gastroenterology, supported by resources of a major teaching environment. Key Responsibilities Provide outpatient and inpatient consultative gastroenterology care. Perform routine GI procedures including EGD and colonoscopy. Manage wide range of GI conditions including GERD, liver disease, IBS, IBD, and GI bleeding. Participate in rotating inpatient coverage and call schedule. Collaborate with tertiary GI team for advanced cases and referrals. Work alongside multidisciplinary team including advanced practice providers, GI nurses, and anesthesiology support. Optional academic involvement: teaching medical students and residents, clinical quality initiatives, scholarly or research collaboration. Qualifications MD or DO from accredited institution. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology. Completion of ACGME-accredited GI fellowship. Eligible for medical licensure in Massachusetts.
