Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with strong scrub and circulate skills and IL RN licensure for a Level 1 Trauma Center role.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
• Patient population includes ortho, ortho trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery cases with trauma exposure
• Schedule is 4x10 hour shifts, 12:00 pm to 10:30 pm, with no block scheduling
• On-call requirement is one 12-hour shift per month on a weekend day or night; no weekday call
• Must work every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Mandatory floating within scope throughout the facility and potentially to other locations up to 50 miles away
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• Experience in neurosurgery, open heart/thoracic, ophthalmology, ENT, bariatric, and gynecology is preferred
• Navy blue scrubs provided on site
• Floating outside primary competency may occur using a team-based model
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed, no more than 2 consecutive days, and no RTO on holidays or adjacent days
• No RTO on weekends is permitted
• Parking available at the Juvenile Temporary Detention Center for $2/day with shuttle service
• Strict compliance; lab work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care OR experience
• Level 1 Trauma experience is required
• Strong scrub and circulate experience in ortho, ortho trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery cases
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Must live within 75 miles of the facility to be considered
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccine is required
