A Pediatrics Physician providing critical care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), specializing in managing 6-8 patients per shift with responsibilities including arterial line placement, central venous line placement, chest tube placement, endotracheal intubation, lumbar puncture, and PICC placement. The role involves working variable schedules including days, nights, weekends, and holidays within a 24/7/365 coverage model, sharing in-house night call responsibilities. Candidates must hold relevant certifications such as NP critical care certification or acceptable PA certificates and be familiar with Epic EMR systems.
Specialty: NP or PA for PICU
• BC/BE: BC Will look at NP s and PA s If provider is NP they must be Critical care certified. If they are a PA other certificates are acceptable.
• Dates needed: ASAP ongoing
• Schedule: Ideal locum candidates can provide at least 4-6 shifts per 4-week block;
o Variable days, evenings, nights, & weekends as part of a 24/7/365 coverage model
o Weekend, Night, and Holiday work is shared equally among all team members
o 12-hour Days/Nights (, )
• Call: In-house night call responsibilities are shared among all team members who have completed orientation to nights.
• PICU: 6-8 patients during the day; night call includes all patients assigned to team at checkout as well as any new admission assigned to the team.
Specialty skills and procedures: Arterial line placement, Central Venous Line Placement, Chest Tube Placement, Endotracheal Intubation, Lumbar Puncture, PICC Placement
EMR: Epic
• Interview process/timeline from time of presentation: Name clear, candidate submittals, schedule 30-minute virtual teams interview and will confirm if they want to extend an offer after the interview.
• Credentialing timeframe: 90 days
• Any specific items needed: will need NPR certification, will also look at licensure candidate
• Client prefers to initially offer a 13-week contract, but will consider a 26-week assignment, case-by-case
