The HCT & Cellular Therapy Apheresis RN is a registered nurse specializing in hematopoietic progenitor cell and mononuclear cell collection through apheresis, providing personalized and evidence-based care. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, including managing complex cellular therapy procedures like CAR T-cell therapies. Advanced certifications and experience in oncology nursing and apheresis are preferred to ensure quality and safety in cellular therapy treatment.
The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The Registered Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey. The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.
What We're Looking For:Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree preferred. BSN, preferred.
Experience: Minimum of one year of apheresis experience in the collection of hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPC, Apheresis) and mononuclear cells (MNC, Apheresis), preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
- Current NC or compact state RN license, required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification, required.
- Current (or actively pursuing) the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) and/or Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMTCN) credential or the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Qualification in Apheresis (QIA) credentials, preferred.
- Completion of ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate or equivalent within 6 months of hire, required.

Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred):
- Knowledge of HCT and cellular therapy processes, including mobilization, apheresis, Spectra Optia® Apheresis System, HCT/cellular product infusion, chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR T) therapies and complications, and standards of the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) preferred.
