We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a full-time locum tenens assignment in North Carolina. This opportunity starts on Dec 16, 2025, runs for 80 days, and features 12-hour weekday shifts and shorter weekend hours in a rotating schedule. The provider will work autonomously within a streamlined team model, seeing 40 or more patients per day.

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts (8am-8pm weekdays, 8am-4pm weekends); full-time 36/40 rotating schedule with every other weekend required; flexibility to float to nearby locations

Responsibilities and Duties

• Independently assess and manage urgent care cases in a high-volume setting
• Collaborate with a medical assistant and front desk personnel to provide streamlined patient care
• Perform and document comprehensive patient evaluations and treatments
• Manage acute illnesses and minor injuries for a diverse patient population
• Prescribe medications and manage refills in accordance with DEA regulations
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards

Additional Information

• Must hold an active North Carolina license
• Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certifications
• Ability to work autonomously is essential; not accepting new graduates
• DOT certification is a plus
