The University of Vermont Health Network Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible anesthesiologists to join its dynamic hospital-based practice. This permanent position is based primarily at CVPH in Plattsburgh, NY, with occasional services required at our partner critical care access hospital, Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, NY. Our department comprises approximately 9 full-time and part-time anesthesiologists, along with a few per diem anesthesiologists and two CRNAs. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for covering a diverse range of general cases, including general surgery, gastroenterology, orthopedics, urology, thoracic, vascular, plastic surgery, ENT, dental, ophthalmology, and obstetrics/gynecology. The care is provided across various settings, including 9 main operating rooms, an outpatient surgical center, labor and delivery, and limited out-of-operating-room sites.

The on-call schedule is designed to ensure work-life balance, with 1st call approximately 3 to 4 times per month, 2nd call approximately 2 to 3 times per month, and weekend calls occurring once every 6 to 8 weeks. Calls are managed from home, with a 15-minute response time. We offer equitable distribution of calls, moderate to very light call intensity, and efficient late shift scheduling. In addition to competitive compensation, full-time anesthesiologists are employed by the University of Vermont Network Medical Group, and a comprehensive benefits package is provided.
