Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Kingwood, TX 77339 (Houston metro area)
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) – South Tower, 1st Floor
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 09/08/2025 – End: 12/08/2025)
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (8 Hour Days), with call coverage after 3 PM and weekend call
• Hours per Week: 40
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Unit: 14 Operating Rooms (including 1 Open Heart Room, expanding to 2)
• Dress Code: Navy Blue Scrubs

CVOR Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or compact state (required for Texas nursing jobs)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of recent CVOR nursing experience
• Experience with open heart procedures and cardiothoracic service line
• Proficiency with standard OR equipment and Meditech EMR
• Strong dependability and flexibility

CVOR RN Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures, including CABG (with and without EVH), valve replacements, ECMO, Impella placement, and pericardial windows
• Deliver direct patient care in a 1:1 ratio during surgical procedures
• Float to other OR service lines (Trauma, General Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Plastics) when no open heart cases are scheduled
• Participate in call coverage after regular shifts and on weekends/holidays as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team of RNs and surgical technologists
