American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 23-hour Pediatrics Observation Unit night shift position requiring a current SC or compact RN license and pediatric certifications.
Responsibilities- Work in a 23-hour observation unit serving pediatric patients
- Ambulatory/inpatient care setting with pediatric focus
- Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (5:00pm-5:30am), Monday through Thursday
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope, including to sister facilities in the region
- Epic EMR is used; prior experience is beneficial
- Royal or navy blue scrubs required
- Unit orientation provided on site prior to assignment
- Team environment with interdisciplinary provider support
- All required modules and compliance tasks must be completed pre-start
- RTO must be submitted at the time of application; approval is based on facility needs
- Assignments may involve participation in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November)
- Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
- Active SC or compact RN license in hand prior to start
- Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Previous pediatric RN experience required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Drivers license required for consideration
- Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility, with locals considered on a case-by-case basis at a lower rate
- Previous permanent employees must be separated from the health system for at least one year before returning as a traveler
