Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Tele position on a night shift requiring strong neuro and cardiac skills and an active AZ or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in an acute care hospital setting on a 24-bed Med Surg unit with telemetry capability
- Adult patient population with no pediatric assignments for travelers
- Nurse to patient ratios of 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights, acuity based
- Floating required to all Med Surg units and ICU for overflow patients
- 12-hour night shifts
- Uses Allscripts Sunrise EMR system
- Work collaboratively with tele techs, charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs as part of the support team
- Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
- Hospitalist, respiratory therapist, and pharmacy support available 24/7
- Scrub attire may be any color except all black; scrubs are not provided
- No IV team support available
Requirements
- Active AZ or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg/Tele experience
- Current ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong neuro and cardiac nursing skills required
- Experience with the Allscripts Sunrise EMR preferred
- PALS certification preferred but not required
