PCU RN Job Details- Location: Shelby, North Carolina 28150
- Healthcare Setting: 32-bed Progressive Care Unit in a 241-bed hospital
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (8/25/2025 – 11/22/2025)
- Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hours per week
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Holiday Coverage: 75% of holidays during contract
- Scrub Color: Navy

- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,570–$1,680
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 18 months of recent Progressive Care Unit RN experience
- Clinical experience with tracheostomies, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care, and central line management
- Ability to float within the region and scope of practice as needed
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as CHF, dysrhythmia, chest pain, stroke, abdominal illnesses, respiratory illness, diabetes, AKI/CKD, ETOH withdrawal, and more
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage cardiac drips
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, and manage central lines and chest tubes
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists
- Accurately document care and interventions using EPIC EMR
- Float to other nursing units or facilities within the region as needed
- Contribute to a supportive, family-oriented unit culture
