Job Title: RN: Psych
Location: Staunton, VA
Setting: State Psych Facility - PEDS
Pay Range: $2800 - $3000 weekly gross
Schedule: 12-Hour Nights, 36/48 weekly rotation, every other weekend, holidays as needed.

Contract Length: 16 Weeks
Candidate Type: Local and traveler friendly

Requirements:

• 2 year of experience as a RN
• Qualified applicants MUST have at least 1 year of experience in Psych
• Charge RN experience
• Valid Registered Nurse license
• Be willing to obtain VA or compact state licensure

Responsibilities

As a healthcare professional in an Adult Mental Health facility, you’ll play a critical role in serving a unique and often underserved patient population. Your care will directly impact patient safety, wellness, and rehabilitation. A few of the responsibilities include:

• Effective communication both verbal & written. Ability to participate in an interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to lead educational groups.
• Ability to assess, plan, implement, & evaluate patient care utilizing knowledge of
  pharmacology, psychiatric disorders, AND physical, psychological, & social needs of the psychiatric adolescent
  or child.
• Competent with TOVA, CPR and knowledge of lab values for children & adolescents.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to apply knowledge to meet child & adolescent needs in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
• Act as a resource person to communicate knowledge of the nursing process to other disciplines, community groups, &
  schools of nursing.
• Walking and/or standing for up to eight (8) hours or more. Bending & lifting.
• Ability to use TOVA techniques. May be exposed to aggressive patients.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts and overtime hours or shifts as required
