Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) skilled in first-assisting for a PRN opportunity in Lexington, KY. The ideal candidate is confident in both operative and inpatient settings, managing pre- and post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients.

Position Details:

• Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgery

• Setting: Inpatient & OR

• Schedule: 1 2 call days per week + 1 weekend per month (Friday 7 AM Monday 7 AM)

• Start Date: As soon as credentialed

• FTE: PRN

• EMR: Epic

Responsibilities:

• First-assist in CABG, AVR, MVR, thoracotomy, and lung resection cases

• Manage patients in telemetry and ICU settings

• Perform vein harvest and chest tube placement

• Participate in inpatient rounds, procedures, and surgery duties

Requirements:

• Active or eligible KY NP License

• Board Certification (ACLS & BLS required)

• Clean malpractice history preferred

• Must be skilled in cardiac surgical assisting and post-op management

• Collaborative surgical team with direct support from cardiothoracic surgeons

Compensation:

• $170/hr (All-inclusive rate)

• Orientation & Holiday Pay included
