American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring Oregon licensure and ICU experience.
Responsibilities- Work in the ICU within a community hospital setting
- Intensive Care Unit with 4 beds and a 1:2 nurse to patient ratio
- Patient population includes DKA, septic shock, ETOH withdrawal, hypoxemia, ARDS, and COVID
- Frequent titration of drips such as propofol, levophed, dobutamine, precedex, fentanyl, insulin, esmolol, versed, and ketamine
- Expectation to read and interpret tele strips; unit uses Mindray monitors
- Shift schedule is 12-hour nights (7:00 pm – 7:30 am), every other weekend required
- Potential to float to IMCU or Med/Surg with full assignment; may assist in ED if experienced
- Uses Epic for charting; experience preferred
- Holiday rotation may apply if scheduled shift falls on a holiday
- Telemedicine intensivist support after hours and weekends; hospitalist in-house 24/7
- RT support available at all times
- Orientation consists of 1-2 shifts with a preceptor
- Charge nurse oversees multiple units and is available as a resource
- Unit shares nurse aids among Med/Surg and IMCU
- First time travelers are welcome to apply
- Any color scrubs required, professional appearance with natural hair colors and no visible face tattoos
- Small community hospital with MS, IMCU, and ICU on the same floor
- Active OR RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Ability to titrate multiple critical care drips
- Comfortable reading and interpreting telemetry
- Preferred certifications: TNCC and PALS
- Adaptable to limited resources typical in a small community hospital
