Cardiac Renal Unit Stepdown RN - Days
Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request).
Float Requirement: First to float within skillset.
Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles).
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule.
AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.
Minimum Experience REQUIRED: 2 years of strong Cardiac/Tele, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience.
Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class).
Patient Population: High acuity – Tele/M/S, Cardiac heavy, (Afib with RVR, Afib, flutter, blocks), heart cath without interventions.
CHF, COPD, sepsis, BH/CIWA, post ablations, dialysis.
Skillset: Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (TRAVELERS ARE REQUIRED TO PASS TELE TESTS), Initiate/titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, etc.).
PIV insertion, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, stables drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), antidysrhythmic (cardizem, tikosyn dosing, amio), nephrostomy tubes.
Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates.
Unit Information: 32 beds.
Ratio: Days 1:4-5
Manager has been over the unit for 15+ years and has built a strong team!
