American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in a Level I Trauma Center with night shifts and current MI RN license required.
Responsibilities- Work in a busy Emergency Department with Level I Trauma, Stroke, and Heart Center designation
- Cares for adult and pediatric patients, including possible floating to pediatric ED
- Patient ratios typically range from 1:5-6 and could be up to 8 during high census or holidays
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
- Required to work 3 weekends (Friday-Sunday) in every 4-week schedule, with variable weekend days
- No on-call responsibilities
- Float to pediatric ED as needed
- Uses EPIC EMR; prior experience required
- Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays, with only one holiday off allowed per contract
- Experience with continuous IV and procedural sedation as well as triage is preferred
- First-time travelers are accepted for this unit
- 5-day maximum requested time off allowed per assignment and must be submitted at application
- Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from previous employment to be eligible
- Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
- Active Michigan RN license in hand by start date (compact licenses not accepted)
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
- ENPC certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent emergency department RN experience required
- Level I trauma experience required
- Experience in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- Ability to provide proof of high school education
