We are seeking an experienced OB Hospitalist for a locum tenens position located in the southeastern region of Texas. This opportunity is for a highly qualified OB/GYN to provide care at a healthcare facility that serves a diverse population in a high-demand area. Below are the details of the position: Position Overview: Location: Near Premont, TX (Specific city name will not be disclosed) Specialty: OB/GYN (Obstetrics and Gynecology) Position Type: Locum Tenens Duration: Ongoing, with flexible scheduling options Start Date: January 2025 Shifts: Available for 12 or 24-hour shifts, with high patient volumes at some locations. Job Responsibilities: Provide consultations for obstetric patients in the Emergency Department (ED) or hospital-owned clinics. Coordinate the transport of critically ill obstetric patients when necessary. Assist OB/GYN physicians with surgical services, including cesarean sections and complex deliveries. Manage unassigned obstetrical patients, including delivering babies when the assigned community obstetricians are unavailable. Respond to emergent situations and manage patient care until the assigned obstetrician arrives. Perform evaluations and assist with the treatment of gynecological patients as needed. Collaborate with the nursing staff to ensure operational efficiency in the OB Emergency Department (OBED). Support and participate in quality improvement activities for the department. Participate in patient safety initiatives and assist in ensuring adherence to hospital accreditation standards. Maintain accurate and timely medical records in the hospital s electronic medical record system. Perform initial assessments and history and physical exams for unassigned patients. Work closely with local healthcare providers to coordinate care, particularly for patients with opioid use disorders. Qualifications: Minimum Experience: 5 years of OB/GYN experience required. Board certification in OB/GYN preferred. Ability to work efficiently in high-stress environments. Experience with fetal heart monitoring and familiarity with TOLAC (Trial of Labor After Cesarean) management is a plus.
