Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 30, 2024 – December 30, 2024)
• Healthcare Setting: Prep & Recovery Unit (PACU nursing jobs)
• Schedule: Day shifts; preferred 3x12-hour or 4x10-hour shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1930 - $2070
• On-Call: 1 weekend day (24-hour call) in a 6-week rotation, plus weekday call
• Flexible scheduling available

RN Qualifications & Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in PACU, Prep & Recovery, or critical care nursing
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association preferred)
• Experience with peripheral nerve blocks preferred
• Pediatric nursing experience (age 6 months and older) preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred, but not required

PACU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver Phase I and Phase II post-anesthesia recovery care and discharge in a single PACU unit
• Manage a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, including care for two Phase I patients as needed
• Provide care for inpatient and outpatient surgical patients, including elective, urgent, and emergent cases
• Assist with local procedures (thoracentesis, paracentesis, minor orthopedic procedures)
• Recover patients from multiple specialties: orthopedic, general surgery, ENT, neurology, plastics, urology, and gynecology
• Care for pediatric patients during high-volume ENT days and other pediatric surgeries
• Recover ICU and endoscopy (MAC) patients as needed
• Participate in on-call rotation and support flexible scheduling for optimal patient care
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality clinical support
