Opportunity:
Registered Nurse - PACU
Job Details:
• 2 years of experience preferred with all surgeries except cardiac procedures
• Experience with pediatrics required and critical care strongly preferred
• Must help with coverage in Pre-Op area
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Patient ratio of 2:1 during day shifts
• Call required as part of the position
• Minimum of 1 weekend shift per contract required
• Must have experience recovering patients from Plastics, Urology, Dental, and GYN surgeries
• Experience required with monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and A-lines
• Care for patients of all ages from 8 months old to 100+ years old
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• 21-bed PACU with daily census of 30 patients
• Orientation required for Preop Holding area
• Float between PACU and Preop Holding as needed
• On-site drug screening required with comprehensive panel testing
• Must work some holidays and have flexible scheduling availability

The facility maintains a 21-bed PACU connected to the Preop Holding area, allowing for seamless patient flow and flexible nursing coverage. The organization provides Level II trauma care and serves patients across all age groups, from infants to elderly patients. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services.
