Endocrinology opening in New MexicoLocated in Artesia, NMFull-Time & PermanentSeeking a BE/BC Endocrinologist to join IM/Endo Practice.
- This role combines outpatient clinical practice with inpatient and outpatient consultative services at rural nonprofit hospital.
- The ideal candidate is committed to high-quality patient care, community engagement, and collaborative practice in a resource-conscious environment.
- Work Week 4.5 days per week with one half day of administrative time for charting, callbacks etc.
- Well established Internal Medicine/endocrinology practice with excellent support team
- Ultrasound on site for thyroid imaging and FNA
- Support of RD who are trained for diabetic pumps: Medtronic and Tandem
- Full download capabilities for CGM, glucometer and pumps
- Hospital has thyroid and parathyroid imaging capability
- Radioiodine therapy is available at the hospital for up to 35 mCi Rx
- Bone Health Program with DXA capability Role:
- Provide comprehensive general internal medicine and endocrine care in the clinic setting.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations, review medical history, and analyze symptoms to diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses in adults.
- Develop and manage long-term care plans for patients with chronic conditions such as hypertension, heart disease, and diabetes.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of endocrine disorders including diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal pathology, pituitary disorders, and metabolic bone disease.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and provide ongoing follow-up care.
- Collaborate with primary care providers and other specialists to coordinate care.
- Serve as an endocrine consultant for inpatient and emergency department cases at the rural nonprofit hospital.
- Provide timely consultation services for complex endocrine presentations, including diabetic emergencies, thyroid storm, adrenal crises, and electrolyte abnormalities.
- Support inpatient care teams with evidence-based recommendations and participate in multidisciplinary rounds as needed.
