The Sr. Water Resources Project Manager oversees and delivers complex water resource projects such as stormwater management, floodplain analysis, and dam safety for various public and private clients. This role involves leading multidisciplinary teams, managing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory standards. The position requires strong engineering expertise, proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, and leadership skills to mentor junior staff and support business growth.
We are seeking a Sr. Water Resources Project Manager to lead and deliver a variety of water resources projects, including stormwater management, floodplain analysis, and dam safety. This role involves managing high-profile projects for municipal, state, federal, and private sector clients, from large mixed-use developments to targeted infrastructure improvements.
The Sr. Water Resources Project Manager will guide a team of engineers and project managers, ensuring all deliverables meet technical and regulatory standards. This includes developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets; directing design efforts; reviewing hydrologic and hydraulic models; and preparing permit applications and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead water resources projects from planning through construction.
- Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for designs, reports, and permits.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and team workloads.
- Coordinate with internal disciplines, external consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare and negotiate proposals, contracts, and change authorizations.
- Support business development and mentor junior staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia (or ability to obtain in other states).
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in water resources engineering with team leadership.
- Strong knowledge of stormwater management, floodplain regulations, and dam safety.
- Proficiency with H&H modeling software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-1, HY-8, Flowmaster).
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with ArcMap and AutoCAD.
