Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring 3 years of L&D experience, active MA RN license, and BLS, NRP, and EFM certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 25-bed Labor & Delivery and Postpartum Unit within a hospital setting
• Unit includes L&D, postpartum, newborn, two operating rooms, two recovery rooms, and two antepartum rooms
• Patient population includes laboring mothers, postpartum patients, and newborns, with an average daily census of 15-25
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2-3 for L&D evaluations, 1:1 for active labor, magnesium or epidural, and 1:3-4 for postpartum
• Night shift position from 19:00-07:30 with every other weekend required and one night call shift
• Uses Epic EMR; previous Epic experience required
• Floating is not required
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients
• Possible work in multiple specialized L&D and postpartum areas including OR and recovery rooms
• Must provide proof of MA RN license at submission
• Dress code follows hospital scrubs policies
• No floating required within this assignment
• Holiday and every other weekend coverage required
• Local candidates must live at least 60 miles from the facility to avoid pay adjustment
• Electronic documentation is completed in Epic
• First-time travelers are not specified; prior L&D travel experience preferred due to unit needs
• RTO must be declared at the time of application
• Parking may incur additional cost; public transportation options are available

Requirements

• Active and unencumbered Massachusetts RN license required at time of consideration; no conditional or pending licenses accepted
• Minimum of 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
• Current BLS, NRP, and EFM certifications, with preference for AHA provider cards
• Experience in labor & delivery, postpartum, circulating, and newborn care
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required with no exemptions allowed
