Key Responsibilities
- Manage client cases from initiation through resolution, ensuring clear communication, precision, and follow-through.
- Represent clients in all aspects of tax controversy, including audits, appeals, litigation, voluntary disclosures, and collection negotiations.
- Conduct legal and financial analysis, prepare filings, and interact with federal and state tax authorities.
- Supervise paralegals and delegate tasks effectively to ensure timely, accurate completion of all case deliverables.
- Maintain detailed time records and meet billable hour expectations (1,650 hours annually).
- Collaborate with team members to uphold exceptional client service standards and operational efficiency.
- Utilize Bloomberg and other research platforms to support complex legal analysis and case strategy.
Qualifications
- Preferred tax controversy experience in a law firm, accounting firm, or corporation.
- Must provide a cover letter demonstrating your legitimate interest in tax law
- Have an active Bar license
- Proficiency in Adobe and MS Office with expertise in Word and Excel
- Competency in solving unique problems
- Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects on time
- Ability to work effectively, efficiently, and collaboratively with other team members professionally
- Professional experience with legal time-reporting and billing practices
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $80,000 – $120,000 annually, plus performance-based incentives.
