The Monitor Technician is responsible for continuously observing patient cardiac monitors and promptly alerting clinical staff of any changes in cardiac rhythms. They review patient heart rhythm data to identify normal and abnormal patterns, working closely within a healthcare team. The role requires attention to detail, effective communication, multitasking, and basic computer skills to support patient care in a hospital setting.
Education: High school diploma, G.E.D. and/or current Mercy coworker.
Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam.
Other: Basic computer skills. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is essential. Excellent communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure is a must.
