This role is for a Locum Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician at Saint Joseph East Women's Hospital in Lexington, KY, focusing on outpatient and consultative maternal-fetal care. The physician will interpret up to 600 ultrasound reports monthly, perform prenatal diagnostic procedures, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary clinical team. The position requires board certification or eligibility in Maternal Fetal Medicine, valid medical licensure, and certifications including BLS and DEA, with no on-call duties.

The practice is housed within Saint Joseph East Women's Hospital, where you will focus on reading up to 600 ultrasound reports monthly, supported by a dedicated team of 5 sonographers, 1 RN, 1 CMA, and 2 medical office staff. Note that the facility does not have diabetic educators or endocrinology services available.
Job Responsibilities- Provide outpatient and consultative maternal-fetal care to patients.
- Read and interpret up to 600 ultrasound reports monthly.
- Perform required prenatal diagnostic procedures, including amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.
- Conduct first trimester nuchal translucency assessments and ultrasonography.
- Maintain patient care records using the EPIC/Viewpoint EMR system.
- Collaborate with a clinical team to deliver high-quality care.
- Work Monday to Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a 1.5-hour lunch and additional time for charting.
- Admissions: Handle a maximum of 15-18 patients per day.
- No on-call duties involved.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
- Must hold a valid state license.
- Completed a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
- Clean malpractice history preferred; candidates with malpractice cases may face restrictions.
- BLS and DEA certifications required during credentialing.
- State Medical License active and unrestricted.
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
- Fellowship training in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
- BLS and DEA certifications at the time of credentialing.
