Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Observation Unit position in a Level 1 Trauma setting, requiring an active IL RN license and EPIC charting experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Observation Unit on the T6 Medical floor of a hospital
- Day shift schedule from 7:00AM to 7:30PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Provides care for patients requiring observation and telemetry monitoring
- Level 1 Trauma experience is required
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Responsible for patient assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and maintaining accurate documentation
- Assess IV sites every 4 hours and start IVs per hospital policy
- Must attend at least five out of six staff meetings annually
- Rotating holiday coverage may be required
- No travel partners are accepted for this assignment
- Returning travelers cannot be on assignment for more than one year without a six-month break in service
- Requested time off may not exceed seven days within a thirteen-week contract
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license or temporary license in good standing
- Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Documented experience in Level 1 Trauma and EPIC charting
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
