Responsibilities
As a healthcare professional in a Corrections facility, you’ll play a critical role in serving a unique and often underserved patient population. Your care will directly impact patient safety, wellness, and rehabilitation. A few of the responsibilities include:
Evaluate, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs for inmates within the full scope of a Physical Therapist (PT), promoting functional independence and mobility.
Perform therapeutic interventions including strength training, range-of-motion exercises, and injury rehabilitation, adapting care to meet the unique challenges of a correctional environment.
Document assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record (EMR) in compliance with HIPAA and facility standards.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a secure, structured environment—providing care that truly matters.
