We are currently seeking a highly qualified Locum - Physician - Emergency Medicine to provide exceptional care at McLaren West Branch, a vital facility about 56 miles from McLaren Bay Hospital. In this critical position, you will play a vital role in managing an active Emergency Department with approximately 9,000 annual visits, providing high-quality emergency care to diverse patient populations. Working alongside a dedicated full ED staff, the successful candidate will lend expertise to a 20-bed facility, ensuring seamless patient flow and optimal outcomes. Required Skills:
- Valid medical license in the state of Michigan
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Emergency Medicine
- Proven experience managing varied emergency cases
- Strong clinical and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Competence in supervising ED staff as needed
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience in a stand-alone Emergency Department
- Knowledge of Fast Track procedures
- Advanced skills in trauma or critical care
- Experience with hospital admissions and transfers
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Medicine practice experience preferred
- Previous locum or ED work highly desirable
Other Requirements:
- Availability for 24-hour shifts starting January 2, 2026
- Ability to work independently without supervising other healthcare providers
- Willingness to adhere to hospital policies and procedures
- Compliance with all necessary certifications and licensure renewals
- Travel expenses covered within policy limitations; no third-party lodging bookings
- Malpractice insurance included in pay rate
- Use of Doctime for clock-in/out, no timesheets required
