Position: Medical Lab Technician
Duration: 13+ weeks of Contract to FTE
Location: Detroit MI
Shift Timing: Day Shift 8-5, Monday through Friday (Potential Flex hours 9:-5 or 9:30 - 6:00)
Required skill with schedule Notes:
• Required Experience: 3 years and up
• Important: We are looking for a resource with sample receipt and accessioning, and lab bench experience rather than phlebotomy
• Certifications: BLS , MLT is plus
• Technology: Epic, Sunquest CoPathPlush (LIS)
• Prior experience in clinical labs, handling specimens and comfortable in PPE. A fair amount of testing is prenatal testing.
Job Summary:
• Under direct supervision by laboratory technologist, leader and/or supervisor, and according to defined protocols, performs select procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens, involving manual techniques or the use of laboratory instruments and information systems.
• May perform phlebotomy as needed.
Skills:
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions.
Education:
• Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science.
