American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in New York, requiring NYS RN licensure and strong post-anesthesia care experience.
Responsibilities- Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) of a hospital setting
- 12-hour day shifts, three times per week
- Weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage required
- No call shifts but on-call response within 60 minutes may be required
- Assignment duration is 13 weeks
- 100 mile radius rule applies; no local candidates accepted within 75 miles
- Primary responsibilities include assessing patient needs in all domains and providing high-quality PACU nursing care
- May be required to serve as charge nurse as needed
- Must safely utilize patient lifts and recognize safety issues
- Strong problem solving and stress management skills are essential
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are required
- Assignment requires holiday and weekend coverage as scheduled
- Only candidates residing outside a 75-mile radius will be considered
- Active New York State RN license required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Previous PACU experience required
- Minimum one year of medical/surgical experience preferred
- Strong lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills required
- Experience using clinical and aseptic equipment in an OR or Ambulatory Surgery Unit setting preferred
- Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills required
