American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/PCU night shift position requiring a MO or compact RN license, ACLS and BCLS, in a Level I Trauma Center.
Responsibilities- Work in a dual PCU/Stepdown unit within a short-term acute care hospital
- Patient ratios are 2-3 on PCU side and 4-5 on the floor side
- All RNs may work on both PCU and floor sides as needed
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00–07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- Uses EPIC EMR; experience required for some assignments
- Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I Trauma center
- RNs will interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, titrate cardiac drips, and care for patients with chest tubes
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Employee parking information will be provided during orientation; night shift parking is free
- Completion of required modules during pre-start/orientation is compensated
- Not eligible for local travel rates if living within 75 miles
- Assignments may be extended beyond 13 weeks based on preference and facility need
- Holiday coverage expectations apply per unit staffing policies
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- ACLS and BCLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years Stepdown/PCU experience required
- Experience in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry, titration of cardiac drips, and chest tube management required
- EPIC charting experience required for certain units
- Must reside at least 75 miles from facility; local candidates not accepted
- Pending license acceptable for consideration
- No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract; none in first week of orientation
- Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
