PCU RN Job Details – North Carolina Nursing Jobs

• Location: Shelby, NC 28150
• Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU), 32 beds
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract (Start: 09/08/2025 – End: 12/06/2025)
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:00), 36 hours per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1570-$1680
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Holiday Coverage: 75% of holidays during contract
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Parking: Free on-site parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 18 months of recent PCU RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficient in tracheostomies, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood product administration, wound care, and central line management
• Willingness to float within the region and scope of practice as needed
• Experience with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors preferred

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to individuals with CHF, dysrhythmias, chest pain, stroke, abdominal illnesses, respiratory issues, diabetes, kidney conditions, and substance withdrawal
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage cardiac drips, and perform wound care and dressing changes
• Administer blood products and manage central lines and chest tubes
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomists, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists
• Participate in departmental orientation and ongoing clinical training
• Float to other nursing units or healthcare facilities within the region as required
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR
