The Emergency Medicine Physician provides comprehensive, evidence-based care in a busy Level III Trauma Center's emergency department, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The role involves managing acute medical presentations, performing diagnostic evaluations, and responding to emergencies including neonatal resuscitation. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine and possess relevant certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS.
Join a high-performingEmergency Medicine team in a well-supported Level III Trauma Center serving theKennewick and greater Tri-Cities region. We are seeking a dedicated EmergencyMedicine Physician to provide compassionate, evidence-based care in a dynamic,fast-paced emergency department.
Schedule : 9-hourshifts: 5:30 AM - 2:30 PM, 1:30 PM - 10:30 PM, 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Position Overview:
- Team Structure: 6+ EMPhysicians and 7.5+ EM APPs
- Coverage Model: 27 hours/dayof physician coverage, 22 hours/day of Advanced Practice Provider coverage
- Level III Trauma Center, AnnualED Volume: 24,440
- 21-bed Emergency Department,6 Fast Track beds, 14 ICU beds
- Admission Rate: 10.8%
- Transfer Rate: 1.5%
Imaging & Diagnostics: CTin-house, Ultrasound available, MRI on-call overnight, Bedsideultrasound utilized by all EM physicians
- Specialty Support Services:Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Cardiac Catheterization, Cardiology, OB/GYN,Obstetrics, and Podiatry
Compensation & Benefits: Compensation:1099 rate of $300 per hour. Paid malpractice coverage including tailcoverage
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality,patient-centered emergency medical care across a broad range of acutepresentations.
- Respond to all floor codes,including neonatal resuscitation.
- Perform patient evaluations,order and interpret diagnostic studies, and initiate evidence-based treatmentplans.
- Utilize bedside ultrasoundin alignment with department standards.
- Collaborate with EM APPs,hospitalists, specialists, and nursing staff to optimize patient flow andclinical outcomes.
- Document all patientencounters accurately and in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Completion of an EmergencyMedicine-accredited residency program preferred.
- ABEM or AOBEMboard-certified/board-eligible required.
- Internal Medicine or FamilyMedicine physicians with substantial emergency medicine experience will beconsidered.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS& ATLS
- Ability to thrive in acollaborative, high-acuity environment.
