The Respiratory Care Practitioner collaborates with physicians and nurses to plan and implement patient respiratory care, operating and maintaining ventilatory and resuscitation equipment. This role requires adherence to professional licensure and certification standards, including a Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License and BLS certification. The position is based at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, providing patient-focused respiratory therapy and supporting overall clinical care.
Description
The Department-based Respiratory Therapist is expected to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contemporary Respiratory Therapy principles. He/She will collaborate with Physicians and Nurses in planning and implementing the patient plan of care. Completion of the department orientation program as well as unit-specific orientation, as required, is mandatory. This individual assists the Physician with the delivery and direction of Respiratory Therapy. She/He may be qualified by training and experience to operate and maintain complex ventilatory support systems, monitoring and resuscitation devices, respiratory care procedures and patient assessments, diagnostic procedures and oxygen therapy. Activities may also include other patient care functions for which he or she is qualified.

Required Qualifications:
- Coursework/Training: Education to meet certification, license, or registration requirement.
- Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
