We are seeking an experienced Medical–Surgical Registered Nurse (Med/Surg RN) for a night-shift contract assignment. The RN is responsible for promoting and maintaining high-quality patient care through effective management of total patient care services during the assigned shift. This role requires strong clinical judgment and the ability to care for diverse adult patient populations.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered Med/Surg nursing care
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing evaluations
- Administer medications and treatments per provider orders
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the electronic medical record
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Promote a professional, respectful, and collaborative care environment
- Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Active California RN license (must be current)
- Nursing degree from an accredited program
- Minimum 1 year of Medical–Surgical nursing experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Demonstrated professionalism and strong interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic medical records
- BLS/BCLS required
- ACLS required
- Additional certifications may be required or preferred per facility policy, including:
- PALS
- NRP
- NIHSS
- CPI
- ENPC
- TNCC
- CPSI / Evident electronic medical record (EMR)
- Bilingual skills not required
