ICU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Norwich, Connecticut 06360 (Connecticut nursing jobs)
• Unit: WBH E3 PCU EXP (PCU with ICU overflow)
• Unit Size: 25 beds
• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend, holidays as needed
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (option to extend)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2020 - $2070
• Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 (floor), 1:3 (PCU), 1:2 (ICU)
• Clinical Cases: Chest pain, stroke, respiratory failure, sepsis

ICU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Certifications: NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS)

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical care to critically ill patients in ICU and PCU settings
• Monitor, assess, and respond rapidly to changes in patient conditions
• Administer medications, treatments, and advanced clinical interventions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Participate in stroke management as part of a primary stroke center
• Educate and support patients and families with compassionate communication
