Executive Chef — Tapestry Bistro & Bar

Tapestry Bistro & Bar, located inside the iconic San Francisco Design Center, is seeking a visionary Executive Chef to lead a design-inspired, chef‑driven culinary program. This role oversees menu innovation, kitchen operations, financial performance, team leadership, and guest experience across bistro service, private events, and cultural programming.
What You’ll Do
- Create seasonal, modern menus aligned with sustainability and plant-forward principles
- Lead recipe development, tastings, costing, and plating standards
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure excellence in food quality
- Manage food and labor costs, inventory, and vendor relationships
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performance culinary team
- Collaborate closely with FOH, operations, and leadership teams
- Represent Tapestry as a culinary ambassador during events and client interactions
What You Bring
- 5+ years of progressive culinary leadership, including 2+ years as an Executive Chef
- Proven success developing menus and leading kitchen teams
- Strong operational, financial, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of sustainability, nutrition trends, and modern techniques
- ServSafe Manager certification
- Hands‑on experience with health department inspections
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and event schedules as needed
