This position is for a Board-eligible Thoracic Surgeon specializing in comprehensive cardiothoracic procedures including coronary artery bypass, lung resections, and vascular surgeries at a leading Level 2 trauma medical center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role involves performing both open and minimally invasive surgeries, managing complex cardiac and thoracic conditions, and participating in patient care with ventilator management and device implantation. It offers a locums-to-perm opportunity with competitive compensation and requires an active Indiana medical license along with ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications.

Opportunity:
Physician (MD) - Thoracic Surgery - Cardio Thoracic Surgery
Job Details:
• Locums-to-Perm opportunity with approximately 10 patient encounters per shift
• Perform comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical procedures including open and endoscopic approaches
• Conduct coronary artery bypass surgeries (both on-pump and off-pump)
• Provide surgical management for congenital defects (ASD, VSD, PFO, etc.)
• Perform valvular repairs and replacements
• Handle cardiac and aorto-thoracic aneurysm repairs
• Conduct lung resections including VATS procedures
• Perform chest wall, pleural, esophagus, and diaphragm surgeries
• Implement permanent pacemaker placements and AICD
• Experience with left ventricular assist devices, TAVR, and CABG procedures
• Provide ventilator management and bronchoscopy
• Insert central lines, arterial lines, PA catheters, and IABPs
• Conduct vascular surgical procedures including open and endovascular approaches
• Board certification eligible with ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications required
• Active Indiana medical license required (IMLC not accepted)
• Expected credentialing timeframe: 30-45 days
