Cardiac Telemetry RN Job Details- Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiac Telemetry
- Location: Wilmington, NC 28401 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
- Facility Setting: Cardiac Telemetry Unit
- Assignment Length: 13-week contract (option to extend)
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (18:45 - 07:15)
- Total Hours: 36 hours per week
- Unit Orientation: 24 hours
- Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts per 4 weeks (flexible scheduling)
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 (surgical step down), 1:5-6 (lower acuity)
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1700-$1750/week
- Active NC or Compact RN license (must be valid at start date)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Cardiac Telemetry RN or on a cardiac floor
- BLS & ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Clinical skills: Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Sheath Removal, Dysrhythmia Interpretation & Management, Cardiac drips (including titration), Chest tubes, Non-invasive airway management
- Preferred: Arterial line management, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Charge nurse experience
- Ability to float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac conditions including atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, valve disorders, endocarditis, and cardiomyopathy
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage cardiac drips, and respond to cardiac emergencies
- Assist with pre- and post-cardiac procedures such as cardiac catheterization, CABG, valve replacements, pacemaker placements, and vascular/thoracic surgeries
- Perform sheath removal, wound care, and utilize specialized equipment (Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires)
- Document patient care using EPIC and manage medications via Pyxis
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Participate in unit rotations and float assignments as required
- Serve as part of the Storm Team/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events or disasters
