Assignment Details Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Location: Near Grace, ID Position Type: Locum Tenens Specialty: Psychiatry Practice Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health Key Responsibilities: Provide inpatient psychiatric care to adult patients. Meet with assigned patients and attend treatment team meetings daily. Assess and manage psychiatric emergencies and treatment needs for patients, including potential admits. Supervise and collaborate with a mid-level provider (APP). Ensure safe and effective medication management, including psychopharmacology and emergency interventions when necessary. Manage psychiatric patients in a unit that includes a range of psychiatric conditions. Participate in call coverage after hours for emergency needs, including patient admits and acute psychiatric interventions. Required Qualifications: Board Certification: Psychiatry Experience: At least 2-3 years of clinical experience in inpatient psychiatry. Licensure: Licensed in Idaho or IMLC. Other Certifications: BLS required. ACLS, ATLS, PALS not required. Fellowship: Preferred, but not required. Patient and Workload Details: Patients per Shift: 9-10, with potential for 14-19 with APP support. Bed Capacity: 19 beds in the behavioral health unit. Support Staff: 1 PA/NP, 2 RNs. Schedule & Call Details: Schedule: Provider will work a 7-day shift from 7 AM to 7 AM. Call: The provider will be on call in the evenings and weekends for emergency psychiatric needs, including consultations and patient admissions. Call Response Time: 45 minutes.
