Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide anesthesia care as part of a care team model (typically 3 CRNAs per 1 physician)
- Collaborate closely with MDs and Anesthesia Technicians for efficient case preparation
- Deliver anesthesia for a diverse range of cases, including orthopedics, low-acuity pediatrics, trauma, neurosurgery, plastics, obstetrics, general surgery, ENT, endoscopies, total joints, and urology/cystoscopies
- Manage patients of all ages, with pediatric cases limited to relatively healthy children (no PICU or high-acuity peds; NICU patients are transported)
- Assist in maintaining a safe and effective anesthesia environment across both hospital and surgery center settings
- Support approximately 60 cases per day in collaboration with the care team
- Adhere to departmental protocols and quality standards
Additional Information
- Must hold current Illinois license and NBCRNA certification
- Board certification in Anesthesiology required
- Experience in high-volume, multidisciplinary hospital settings preferred
- Physicians handle all blocks and cardiac cases
- No transplants or high-acuity pediatric or neonatal cases
