American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring LDRP experience, ACLS/BLS/NRP certification, and proficiency with Epic EMR.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit within an acute care setting
- Unit includes 34 L&D beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, 2 triage beds, and 14 postpartum beds
- Handles approximately 150-180 births per month with high-risk and specialty cases such as preeclampsia, diabetes, and substance use
- Block scheduling available; night shifts (12 hours) with every other weekend required (Friday and Saturday)
- Float within mother-baby and postpartum units as needed, functioning with routine mom and baby competencies and attending low risk deliveries
- Epic EMR system is used; experience with Centricity-perinatal electronic fetal monitoring system required
- Must be comfortable reading own monitoring strips post C-section
- Free charge nurse on both shifts, supported by surgical tech and patient care assistant on each shift
- OBGYN/hospitalist and anesthesia available in-house 24/7
- Responsibilities include care of patients 33 weeks gestation and above, including high risk situations
- Must be open to feedback and adaptable to varying workflows and policies
- Scrubs provided by facility; personal locker included
- Standard orientation includes compliance, Epic EMR training, and 2-3 unit-based shifts
- Holiday coverage required with rotation among permanent staff
- On standby, candidate must be able to respond within 45 minutes
- RNs required to float within mother-baby and postpartum units as needed but not to NICU
- No prior direct employment within the CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity network in the past year
- Active WA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D or LDRP experience required (may consider 1 year with strong prior travel background)
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP
- Must be able to function independently for deliveries and circulate during C-sections
- Experience titrating drips such as Magnesium, Pitocin, and Insulin required
- Must be comfortable assisting with newborn transition and delivery support
- Experience with Epic EMR and Centricity-perinatal EFM systems required or strongly preferred
- Two recent professional references required, including one supervisor from within the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
