The Anesthesiology Physician provides hospital-based anesthesia care for a variety of surgical cases including general, cardiac, thoracic, and complex vascular procedures. The role requires supervision of CRNAs, management of ventilation, and proficiency in invasive monitoring techniques such as TEE, PA catheter, arterial line, and central line insertion. Candidates must hold board certification, a valid New Jersey medical license, and certifications in ACLS and BLS, with preference for fellowship training in cardiac anesthesia.
Coverage Needed:
- Start Date: March 1, 2026
- End Date: July 31, 2026
- Schedule: 8-hour or 12-hour shifts starting at 7 AM
- Weekend and night call required
Clinical Details:
- Practice Setting: Hospital-based
- Trauma Level: Level II
- EMR: Cerner
- Support Staff: Required to supervise CRNAs
- Locum or Locum to Perm
- Required Procedures: General Surgical Cases (Adult), IV Regional Anesthesia, Plexus Anesthesia, Open Heart Anesthesia, Thoracic Cases (Except Open Heart), Complex Vascular Cases (Except Open Heart), Spinal Anesthesia, Regional Anesthesia, Local Infiltration, Ventilation Management
- Insertion of: TEE, PA Catheter, Arterial Line, Central Line
Requirements:
- Board Certification in Anesthesiology
- Active New Jersey Medical License
- ACLS and BLS Certifications
- Fellowship in Cardiac Anesthesia (preferred)
- Proficiency in Open Heart, Thoracic (non-Open Heart), and Complex Vascular Cases
- Experience with TEE, PA Catheter, Arterial Line, and Central Line Insertion
- Experience Supervising CRNAs
- Experience with Cerner EMR (preferred)
