Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Telemetry position on a cardiac unit in Michigan, requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active MI RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 54-bed cardiac telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- Majority of patients are monitored via cardiac telemetry, with remote telemetry room monitoring
- Patient population includes heart failure, heart attack (STEMI, NSTEMI), stroke, arrhythmias, chest pain, and occasional medical overflow
- Day shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30
- Required to work every other weekend
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Block scheduling attempts may be accommodated but are not guaranteed
- No on-call responsibility
- PCA support is provided on the unit
- Uses Cerner Powerchart for documentation
- Nurses care for a range of cardiac and stroke patients requiring close telemetry monitoring, including management of cardiac drips
- Overflow medical patients may be assigned as needed
- Caribbean Blue scrubs are required
- First-time travelers are accepted for this contract
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum of 1 year recent telemetry or relevant cardiac nursing experience
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; locals not accepted
